Cosmetic Breast Surgery
Essentially, there are three cosmetic breast operations:
- Breast Augmentation (Implants). Medical name is Augmentation Mammoplasty.
- Breast Reduction. Medical name is Reduction Mammoplasty.
- Breast Lift. Medical name is Mastopexy.
In addition to these cosmetic surgical procedures, breast liposuction is possible as an alternative to breast reduction. Dr Goldman uses Vaser Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction system as a specialist High Definition procedure. This helps to avoid the significant external scarring and associated complications of the formal breast reduction procedure. Vaser Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction is only useful for those who are after a modest breast reduction of no more than one bra cup size.
Currently in Australia, there is no option of performing a breast augmentation using any filler product. Although Dr Goldman does perform fat transfer procedures, this is not a treatment option for a breast augmentation.
Your consultation with Dr Goldman will include a breast evaluation both from a medical perspective as well as a cosmetic and aesthetic perspective. This consultation usually lasts for around 1 hour.
