Buttock Augmentation Perth

Why have a Buttock Augmentation (also known as a Brazilian butt lift)?

A buttock augmentation, also referred to as gluteal augmentation or Brazilian Butt Lift, is a surgical procedure designed to enhance the size and shape of the buttocks. It involves the placement of implants or the transfer of fat to achieve a fuller and more proportionate buttock contour.

Types of Buttock Augmentation

There are two main procedures commonly used by surgeons, however, the results and potential side effects can vary greatly:

  1. Butt Augmentation with Fat Grafting – Using this method, the patient’s fat is transferred from one part of the body to the other. This is the most natural method and is the only procedure offered by Dr Robert Goldman.
  2. Butt Augmentation with Silicone Implants – This method uses synthetic silicone and plastic/polymer blended implants. This invasive surgery can often result in an unnatural curvature and creates more safety risks for the patient.

Why Fat Grafting is the Preferred Choice

A true buttock augmentation only uses fat grafting, not silicone implants.

To help shed more light on why buttock augmentation fat grafting is the preferred choice, let’s look at the two methods side by side.

Things to Consider Before Getting a Buttock Augmentation

In order to be a good candidate for the procedure, there are a few things you need to ask yourself before proceeding.

Weight Matters

The Buttock Augmentation uses harvested fat cells through fat transfer method known as liposuction from fat prone areas on the body to the buttocks. For this to be effective, the patient is required to already be healthy for their body type and cannot be someone diagnosed with obesity – this can be dangerous and make the procedure a waste of time and money.

This is also the case if the candidate is thin with little fat deposits around the body. The candidate must ensure that there is enough fat in local areas to successfully achieve a curvaceous bottom.

Being in the healthy weight range will make you a good candidate for the procedure. The fat transfer will only take place in areas with stubborn fat (fats that are harder to lose with your healthy diet and exercise).

Another important thing to consider is the suitability of the skin in the area. BBL is not a solution for getting rid of issues such as excess skin that’s drooping or saggy. If this is the case, please speak to Dr Robert Goldman to discuss further options.

This obstacle can be easily crossed with an addition of another procedure that will firm and tighten the skin first. The ideal candidate should ensure that the skin is firm and tight for the procedure to have the desired end result.

It is important that the candidate has enough time set aside for the recovery process. This includes time off from work or anything that may result in pressure placed on the buttocks. You’ll need to rest and refrain from heavy lifting and general household chores while you recover, so make the necessary arrangements before you undergo surgery.

The Buttock Augmentation Procedure

Buttock Augmentation uses the procedure known as a fat transfer. The procedure is safe and less invasive compared to other buttock augmentation procedures.

The procedure starts by the surgeon using liposuction methods to harvest fat cells from discussed areas from your body. Once harvested, the fat cells are then purified and stored in syringes. The purified fat cells are then interjected in the different areas of your buttocks evenly.

During the consultation with Dr Robert Goldman, you will discuss the realistic results of the procedure for your body and health. Choosing sizes and where to harvest the donor fats from will be discussed, along with any concerns you may have about the surgery.

A lot of the recovery is in place to set the individual up for the best outcome from the surgery which may not be suited for every candidate. After discussing the details, the doctor will determine the best shape and size that’s best for the patient and their needs.

Buttock augmentations can be a difficult process for the body and the mind. We promise to be there to support you through the whole process. From the consultations to the procedure, through to post-procedure and aftercare, Dr Goldman and his team will be at your beck and call to ensure you are completely satisfied with the results.

Directly after the surgery: After the anesthetic wears off, the patient will feel mild to moderate discomfort in the area. The doctor will prescribe pain medication to alleviate the initial discomforts.

Day 1: The patient will have to adopt a few new habits for the coming weeks including:

  • Wear a girdle to stop swelling in the areas that experienced fat removal
  • Sleep on the side and the stomach
  • Use a donut cushion to sit on
  • Avoid putting direct pressure on the buttocks
  • Avoid sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Avoid lifting anything heavy such as shopping bags, etc
  • Avoid engaging in strenuous exercise
  • Avoid doing squats or lifting heavy weights
  • Avoid driving long distances at a time
  • Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, or the ocean

Day 5: The recovery routines are necessary for the new cells in your buttocks will need enough blood flow to set in the area, the excess pressure can kill the fat cells and be a detriment to the desired result.

Week 3: You will start to see some results and the discomfort will be alleviated. You’ll have your first post-surgery consult with the doctor to assess the results; if the doctor signs off on the progress, the patient is allowed to return to normal routines albeit will still be requested to avoid any strenuous exercise.

Week 5-6: The body is nearing full recovery or has recovered.

Buttock Augmentation Cost

As with every surgical procedure, many variants will determine the final cost. One factor that does influence the price is the amount of liposuction that is needed.

The fat deposits required for a procedure are often taken from areas where fat is harder to lose – the waist, hips or thighs. While the main procedure is a buttock augmentation, the bonus is a reduction in fat from those other areas of the body. This will help to give you a more contoured overall body shape.

The amount of liposuction needed, and therefore the cost of your procedure, will be determined in your initial consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

The hospitalisation of a patient is dependent on post-surgery conditions. Most people who have a BBL are allowed to go home after the procedure if there are no complications.

The BBL is a non-invasive procedure and the chances of scarring are low to nil unless other correlating health issues react to the injecting nature of the procedure (medical history will be discussed at the consult to assess candidacy).

Smoking isn’t preferred for at least 3 weeks prior to the procedure as it can interfere with the cell transfer; please ensure you understand this before considering the procedure.

Like every procedure, there are complications and risk attached to BBL. Risks include blood clots, infections, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary and cardiac complications. Fat embolisms being the most common risk.

Dr Goldman takes pride in his attention to detail and will ensure that all risks associated with the procedure in conjunction with the patient is discussed and averted.

The amount of fat deposits needed for a successful BBL will vary from person to person. It is best to consult with Dr Goldman and discuss your personal requirements.

If you have excess skin that is sagging, BBL may not be a procedure for you straight away. Dr Goldman can discuss your options to tighten the sagging skin first.
