Types of Buttock Augmentation

There are two main procedures commonly used by surgeons, however, the results and potential side effects can vary greatly:

  1. Butt Augmentation with Fat Grafting – Using this method, the patient’s fat is transferred from one part of the body to the other. This is the only procedure offered by Dr Robert Goldman.
  2. Butt Augmentation with Silicone Implants – This method uses synthetic silicone and plastic/polymer blended implants. This invasive surgery can often create more safety risks for the patient.

FAT GRAFTING V SILICONE IMPLANTS

A true buttock augmentation only uses fat grafting, not silicone implants.

To help shed more light on why buttock augmentation fat grafting is the preferred choice, let’s look at the two methods side by side.

THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE A BUTTOCK AUGMENTATION

There are a few things you need to ask yourself before considering a Buttock Augmentation.

Weight Matters

The Buttock Augmentation uses harvested fat cells through fat transfer method known as liposuction from fat prone areas on the body to the buttocks. For this to be effective, the patient is required to already be healthy for their body type and cannot be someone diagnosed with obesity – this can be dangerous.

This is also the case if the candidate is thin with little fat deposits around the body.

The Buttock Augmentation Procedure

Buttock Augmentation uses the procedure known as a fat transfer. The procedure is safe and less invasive compared to other buttock augmentation procedures.

The procedure starts by the surgeon using liposuction methods to harvest fat cells from discussed areas from your body. Once harvested, the fat cells are then purified and stored in syringes. The purified fat cells are then interjected in the different areas of your buttocks evenly.

Aftercare

Directly after the surgery: After the anesthetic wears off, the patient will feel mild to moderate discomfort in the area. The doctor will prescribe pain medication to alleviate the initial discomforts.

Day 1: The patient will have to adopt a few new habits for the coming weeks including:

  • Wear a girdle to stop swelling in the areas that experienced fat removal
  • Sleep on the side and the stomach
  • Use a donut cushion to sit on
  • Avoid putting direct pressure on the buttocks
  • Avoid sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Avoid lifting anything heavy such as shopping bags, etc
  • Avoid engaging in strenuous exercise
  • Avoid doing squats or lifting heavy weights
  • Avoid driving long distances at a time
  • Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, or the ocean

Day 5: The recovery routines are necessary for the new cells in your buttocks will need enough blood flow to set in the area, the excess pressure can kill the fat cells and be a detriment to the desired result.

Week 3: You will start to see some results and the discomfort will be alleviated. You’ll have your first post-surgery consult with the doctor to assess the results; if the doctor signs off on the progress, the patient is allowed to return to normal routines albeit will still be requested to avoid any strenuous exercise.

Week 5-6: The body is nearing full recovery or has recovered.

Buttock Augmentation Cost

As with every surgical procedure, many variants will determine the final cost. One factor that does influence the price is the amount of liposuction that is needed.

The fat deposits required for a procedure are often taken from areas where fat is harder to lose – the waist, hips or thighs.

The amount of liposuction needed, and therefore the cost of your procedure, will be determined in your initial consultation.
